Terms of Service
Last updated June 11, 2026
These terms cover your use of grumpty.com and the Grumpty app ("the Service"). By using it, you agree to them. They're meant to be readable, not a trap.
What Grumpty is
Grumpty helps you remember recurring home maintenance: you add chores and how often they repeat, and we remind you and reschedule the next one. It's a reminder and tracking tool. It is not professional advice, and it does not inspect, guarantee, or take responsibility for the actual condition of your home. The schedules and starter suggestions are sensible defaults, not a code, warranty, or substitute for a qualified tradesperson.
Your account
- You need to be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate information, and let us know if your account is used without your permission.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Break the law with it, or use it to harm others.
- Try to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- Use the contact-sharing feature to spam people or send anything you weren't asked for.
- Access accounts or data that aren't yours.
Your content
The chores, notes, and other content you add stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them so the Service can work for you and anyone you share a household with.
Beta and changes
Grumpty is free during beta. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may introduce paid plans later (we'll tell you before charging you for anything). We may update these terms; if we make a material change we'll update the date below and flag it in the app or by email.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a reminder will always arrive on time. Email delivery in particular depends on third parties and your provider. Don't rely on Grumpty as your only safeguard for anything safety-critical.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Grumpty is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any home, property, or other loss arising from maintenance you did, didn't do, or did late. Since the Service is free, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred US dollars.
Termination
You can stop using Grumpty and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or the Service is misused.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
